Dispatcher (Norton County)


The Norton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Dispatcher. Successful candidate must have computer knowledge and experience, with good communication skills.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, or equivalent. Successful applicants will have no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions.

Dispatchers work a 12-hour shift which in a two-week period would consist of working 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, then 3 days off. This schedule allows for dispatchers to have every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.

Open positions will be the 7:00PM to 7:00AM shift. Coverage of other shifts may be required at certain times.

Dispatch duties include, but are not limited to, computer use in dispatch systems, telecommunications, and some jail responsibilities.

Starting wage is $13.00 per hour and some overtime will be required.
