Patrol Deputy, (Butler County Sheriff, KS)
The Butler County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Patrol Deputy. This position will include patrolling county areas, enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, securing compliance with traffic violations, conducting criminal investigations, and crash investigations. Patrol Deputies must be able to act without direct supervision and to exercise independent judgment in handling emergencies.
Salary: The current starting rate for this position is $17.37. All equipment is supplied as well as a take home vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications: No experience is required, however; selected candidates are expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well after six months in the position. Candidates must be 21 years old or older, be a U.S. Citizen, and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Candidates shall not have any Felony, Domestic Violence, or serious misdemeanor convictions, and/or any other criminal or civil legal action pending. Be of good moral character, and have the ability to credibly testify in court.
All applicants must be able to successfully pass physical agility tests, written examinations, oral board interviews, background investigations, polygraph examinations, psychological examinations, physical examinations and assessments, drug screening, and any additional testing or conditions as needed at the direction of the Sheriff.
