Detention Officer (Leavenworth County)


The Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants for the position of Detention Officer, with the opportunity for career advancement in other law enforcement fields.  Detention Officers are responsible for the movement, supervision, safety and security of inmates and visitors within the facility during their assigned shifts.

Salary: Hourly $16.65


  • KPERS/KP&F Retirement

  • Paid Training


  • 21 Years of Age
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • No Felony or Domestic Violence Criminal History, no misdemeanors within the last five years.
  • Good Driving Record
  • Good Moral Character
  • Military Service, Experience in Law Enforcement or College coursework is desired
