Jailer (Coffey County Sheriff's Office)

The Coffey County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a full time Jailer. The Sheriff's Office is looking to hire someone with previous certification as a Jailer but it is not required for a starting jailer. Duties will include, but are not limited to, taking care of inmates, booking in and releasing of inmates, transporting to court and doctor appointments, and applying basic medical needs. You will also clean and maintain the jail. Residency may be waived, if jailer resides within 1 hour or 45 miles response time to the Coffey County Sheriff's Office.

Hourly pay could be higher depending on applicant's qualifications and certifications. Corrections I salary ranges anywhere from $18.36 - $25.41 an hour plus benefits. Corrections II salary ranges anywhere from $19.48 - $26.99 an hour plus benefits.

High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Applicant must possess a valid Kansas driver's license. Applicant cannot have any felony convictions. Applicant must be 18 years of age to apply. You will be required to pass a physical and a Drug and Alcohol test.
