Marion County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of full-time K9 Deputy Sheriff.

Applicants are required to be at least 24 years of age. Two to three years of law enforcement experience is required and K9 experience is preferred. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either days or nights, weekends and holidays.

This position performs general law enforcement duties of a Sheriff's Deputy and also is responsible for maintaining and training the department of K9 which would include the daily care. Work involves the likelihood of call out at any time. Must be able to work without direct supervision and to exercise independent judgement in handling the legal requirements and aspects of K9 deployment.

Starting pay is $21.91 but may be higher based on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, life insurance, retirement, sick leave, and vacation.
