Police Officer Trainee (Fort Hays State University Police)

Position Type: Commissioned Law Enforcement Position

Position Open: Police Officer Trainee

Agency: Fort Hays State University Police

Introduction Statement: FHSU is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer Trainee. Preference will be given to applicants with K.L.E.T.C. certification. 

Type: Full-Time

Salary: Starting salary range: $2813.20 to $3074.93 per month depending on KLETC or recognized equivalent certification &/or experience. Benefits include medical & dental, tuition assistance, and KP&F Retirement Plan.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must be at least 21 years of age, no felony convictions, no convictions for domestic violence and must maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED. Selection process includes P.O.S.T. written testing, physical agility testing, extensive criminal background investigation, and interview board. Successful candidate must also complete psychological, polygraph & drug testing as well as a physical exam.
