Employment Opportunity: MOCIC Executive Director

The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC), headquartered in Springfield, MO, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Executive Director. The director is responsible for successful day-to-day operations of this non-profit, federally-funded, criminal justice support agency that is one of the Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) centers.

Responsibilities include the effective and efficient management of all center resources and overall supervision of a 30+ member staff of professional, technical, administrative and clerical personnel, as well as the effective delivery of a variety of diverse support services to member law enforcement agencies in a nine-state region. This position is responsible for the management of the organization’s budget and its compliance with a variety of statutes, regulations and funding guidelines. The director reports to an elected Executive Committee and serves at the will of the Executive Committee.

A four-year degree from an accredited college or university in management, criminal justice administration, or related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred. The successful candidate must have management and leadership experience, good character, a demonstrated ability to perform at a regional and national level, and appropriate criminal justice experience or knowledge of criminal justice systems and procedures. Extensive travel is required. Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills are essential to this position. The successful candidate must pass a rigid background, have or be able to obtain required security clearances and reside in Springfield or the surrounding area. Although the organization is federally funded, the successful candidate will not be considered a federal employee for employment purposes.

The starting salary for this position is $120,000 with an excellent benefit package. This starting salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

  • Previous law enforcement/criminal justice experience
  • Previous involvement with MOCIC or RISS
