Corrections Officer (Cowley County Sheriff's Office)

The Cowley County Sheriff's Office Jail is an approximately 200 bed facility located in Winfield, Kansas. In addition to housing Cowley County inmates the Cowley County Jail also houses for Sedgwick County and in some cases the Kansas Department of Corrections. The facility is ran as Indirect Supervision and Corrections Officers are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the facility and the management of the inmates under their care. Duties include but are not limited to: Documenting and maintaining records of inmate activities, addressing inmate requests, performing security checks, and identifying and responding to safety/security concerns and performing conflict resolution. Most Road Deputies are selected after serving in the jail as a Corrections Officer.

TYPE: Full and Part-Time

SALARY: $17.11 per hour (New)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

18 years of age or older

High School Diploma or GED

Currently possess a Kansas Driver's License

U.S. Citizen

Ability to pass a written test, truth Detection examination, drug screen, physical and background investigation
