The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for 3 full time Detention Officers. Applicants should be self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision and have the highest level of integrity. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.

This is a position specializes in the care and control of inmates in the custody of the Anderson County Detention Center. Responsibilities include, but not limited to; protecting the well-being of inmates, transporting inmates to and from court and/or other facilities, booking and intake procedures of inmates, and the overall supervision of inmates within the facility.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license by the date of employment, have a high school diploma or GED, available to work nights, weekends and holidays. No Felonies or serious misdemeanor convictions. Applicants must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, medical exam, and drug screen.

Starting salary for Detention Officer is $17.09/hr with no experience and a potential pay increase based on qualifications, years of experience, and other certification. Eligible applicants may qualify for lateral pay within the general range.
