911 Operator / Emergency Dispatcher (Anderson County Sheriff's Office)

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for 3 full time 911 Operators/Emergency Dispatchers. Applicants should be self-motivated, community oriented, able to work with limited supervision and have the highest level of integrity. Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including providing advice, directions, and dealing with the public under adverse conditions. The ability to read and interpret teletypes and maps. The ability to handle multiple calls at one time under stressful situations. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license by the date of employment, have a high school diploma or GED, available to work nights, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, medical exam, and drug screen.

Starting salary for 911 Operator/Communication Dispatcher is $17.09/hr with no experience and a potential pay increase based on qualifications, years of experience, and other certification. Eligible applicants may qualify for lateral pay within the general range.
