The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (KS) is accepting applications for certified Law Enforcement Officers for the position of Deputy Sheriff (Lateral - Job ID 23-057). Applicants must currently be a full-time "Police Officer" or "Law Enforcement Officer" who holds an "active law enforcement certificate" issued by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training as defined by Kansas State Statute 74-5602 and subsections.

Applicants must have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience. The years of experience are counted after academy graduation and field training from the applicant's prior employment. Must possess a valid Kansas driver's license or the ability to obtain one and reside within 45 minutes of the Sheriff's Office upon employment. Successful candidates may be assigned to the Operations and/or Corrections Division based on experience and the needs of the agency. Shift work is mandatory for this position. Douglas County is dedicated to eliminating racial inequities. Salary range is $26.72 - $40.08 per hr., depending on qualifications. Overtime after consecutive 12.5 hour shift is paid at DOUBLE the hourly rate.
